TiC dispersedly strengthened tungsten matrix composites were fabricated with the help of the high energy milling and vacuum hot pressing.The microstructure and mechanical properties such as relative density
micro-hardness
Young′s modulus and bending strength of the composites were investigated.The results show that a small addition of TiC can change the fracture mode from intergranular type to transgranular type as a result of inhibiting effectively the growth of W particle
improving the mechanical properties of TiC/W
especially for 1% n-TiC/W composite.Compared with the n-TiC
the effects of μ-TiC on the mechanical properties can be neglected.
