Die casting experiments were conducted to understand influence of processing parameters on mechanical properties of AT72magnesium alloy by means of density measurement and mechanical properties testing.Processing parameters were investigated including conventional die casting
vacuum die casting
normal steel plunger
sealing copper plunger
slow shot speed
fast boost pressure
resident time in the die chamber and exhausting design of slow shot stage.The results show that the mechanical properties of AT72magnesinam can be further improved by selecting the appropriate slow shot speed
