K4169superalloy with different Cu contents from 0to 0.5%(weight percentage)was prepared by a manual electric arc furnace. The phase composition
solidification structure
segregation and the melting point of the superalloy prepared were observed by XRD(X-ray diffraction)
OM(optical microscope)
SEM(scanning electron microscope)
SEM-EDS and DSC.The results show that Cu is negative segregation element which mainly enriched at the dendrite arm
and it promotes the segregation of Nb
Mo and Fe
meanwhile
Cu promotes significantly the precipitation of Laves phase and MC carbide at the grain boundaries. In addition
the incipient melting temperature of Laves phase and the melting point of alloy are decreased with the Cu addition. The analysis shows that Cu is harmful to the solidification structure of K4169superalloy.
