on microstructure and wear resistance of Cu-Al-Ni-Fe-Mn aluminum bronze were investigated by OM (optical microscopy)
SEM (scanning electron microscopy) and M-2000-type abrasion tester. The results indicate that the addition of proper Ce content can effectively refine the microstructure and improve the tensile strength
ductility and wear resistance. With 0.15% Ce addition
fine and round grain with uniform distribution can be observed in the Cu-Al-Ni-Fe-Mn alloy
and desirable wear resistance can be obtained. However
with 0.20% Ce addition
the polygonal and lamellar structure are increased in the alloy with the coarseness of grain boundary
leading to the deterioration of wear resistance of the alloy materials.
