ZA4-1alloys were prepared in silicone rubber mould by centrifugal casting.Effects of titanium content on microstructures and mechanical properties of ZA4-1alloys were investigated by scanning electron microscopy(SEM)
metallographic microscope and universal testing machine. The results show that with the increase of titanium content
the average grain degrees in the alloys is decreased firstly and then increased. With the titanium content of 0.08%
grain can be refined obviously with uniform distribution
and the comprehensive mechanical properties of the zinc alloy exhibit desirable.Increasing titanium content to 0.2%
the grains are coarse instead of smaller. The comprehensive mechanical properties are deteriorated as a result of precipitation of eutectic phase in grain boundaries and the enrichment of excessive Ti on the grain boundary resulting in defects.
