mechanical properties and machinability of P-Ca brass with lead-free have been investigated.Through observing the microstructures and detecting properties
it is found that Mg can inhibitor the generation of the lamellate intermetallic compound
improving the machinability distinctly with the slight change of strength and hardness.Meanwhile
the elongation can be increased significantly.However
with the content of Mg more than 0.6%
the elongation is deteriorated sharply.P-Ca brass with 1.0%P
0.2%Ca and 0.6%Mg exhibits appropriate mechanical properties and machinability.
