Effects of glass fiber addition on the viscosity of the ceramic slurry and the tensile strength of ceramic green body for investment casting were investigated.Ceramic green body is mainly made from quartz sand and silica sol
and glass fiber is approximately 16 μm in diameter and 1
3
mm in length. The results indicate that
with a certain amount of glass fiber addition
tensile strength of the samples is increased with the temperature increases.Within a certain range
the tensile strength of the ceramic mold is increased linearly from 0.175 MPa to 0.221 MPa with increasing in glass fiber sintered at 400 ℃
and the viscosity of ceramic slurry is increased in an exponential form.
