The solubility of alumina based ceramic core is the key factor influencing its wide application in manufacturing turbine blade.Effect of porosity on properties ceramic core was investigated.The results show that
the leaching of the mullite phase is dominant in the leaching process.The leaching speed tends to increase firstly and then becomes stable with the increase of the porosity
and the core strength is decreased gradually.The leaching rate can reach 7.6 mg/min with porosity of 41.8%
and the room temperature flexural strength reaches 14 MPa.Meanwhile
the once boiling time with alkali should not exceed 4 hours.
