Influences of the apparent viscosity and pouring temperatures of the semi-solid aluminum alloy on filling and solidification process of the die casting housing cap bearing were analyzed by numerical simulation method.The simulated results show that the filling velocity of the semi-solid aluminum alloy is decreased markedly with the increase of the apparent viscosity
while the influence of the pouring temperature on the filling velocity in semi-solid die casting is consistent with that in the traditional die casting.The solidification temperatures at the same position of the housing cap bearing are increased with the increase of the apparent viscosity of the semi-solid aluminum alloy.The absence of casting defects in the solidified castings can be observed.
