CuAINi alloy wires of 1. 5 mm in diameter were cast by heated mold continuous casting process. Smooth surface wires with directional solidification structure were obtained at a mold temperature 1110 ℃. The quantity of crystal grains is fewer and boundary is straight at cast speed 50 mm/min
while the number of crystal grains increase and the grain boundary is tortuous at 80 mm/min. It has great advantages to obtain Cu based shape memory alloy by the heated mold continuous casting process
which can not only avoide the difficulty of plastic formation but also gain directional solidification structure and improve alloy’s property.
