The anti-penetration properties of Al-Ti micro-laminated material with different structures was analyzed by numerical simulation based on the LS-DYNA software. The effects of Ti volume fraction in micro-laminated structure and laminated structure on anti-penetration performance were investigated. The anti-penetration performance of Al-Ti micro-laminated composite target with different back plate materials and surface density was analyzed. The results indicate that when the volume fraction of Ti is 27.7%

the anti-penetration performance is desirable. When the initial velocity is 808 m/s

the limit thickness of ?7.62 mm bullet penetrating the laminate material is 12 mm. When the initial velocity is 818 m/s or 488 m/s

the limit thickness of ?12.7 mm bullet penetrating the laminate material is 18 mm or 11 mm

respectively. The anti-penetration performance of Ti/Al

Ti micro-laminated composite target with positive gradient distribution of toughness layer is better than that with reverse gradient distribution or uniform distribution. When the thickness ratio of target plate to Q235 steel back plate is 2∶1

the anti-penetration performance is satisfied

and the compound target composed of Al-Ti micro-laminated material and AZ31 magnesium alloy exhibits desirable anti-penetration performance.
