Aluminum alloy main bearing cap of engine block was produced by semi-solid rheological die casting. Compared with QT500-7 products
weight is reduced by 45%
presenting the remarkable lightweight effect
and the performance of the parts meets the design requirements. The main bearing cap was redesigned and optimized according to the properties of the semi-solid aluminum alloy 319 S and the characteristics of the SSM. After the three-stage heat treatment
the metallographic structure is fine with high mechanical properties and absence of defects such as gas hole and shrinkage porosity. The aluminum alloy parts have passed 10 million single-frame fatigue tests
showing good application prospects.
