The effects of Mn and Zr microalloying on microstructure and properties of Al-10 Mg aluminum alloy were investiagted by adding trace Mn and Zr. The results reveal that the as-cast average grain size of Al-10 Mg alloy with 0.4% Mn reaches 108 μm
and the tensile strength
yield strength and elongation reach up to 361 MPa
183 MPa and 17.99%
respectively
after solution treatment at 435 ℃ for 16 h. With 0.4% Mn and 0.1% Zr addition
the average grain size of the alloy reaches up to 84 μm. After solution treatment
the tensile strength
yield strength and elongation of the alloy reach up to 381 MPa
