High-entropy alloys(HEAs) have been the focus of research in academia and industry due to the excellent mechanical and electrochemical properties. Coatings with special functions can be cladded on the substrate surface by laser cladding
making single material become functional gradient composite. HEAs coating on the surface can significantly improve the surface hardness
high-temperature mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of the material
prolonging the service life. The effects of alloy composition and content on the hardness
wear resistance and corrosion resistance of laser cladding HEAs coatings as well as the mechanism were reviewed.The challenges of laser cladding HEAs coatings were summarized
and the application as well as development direction of laser cladding HEAs coatings was prospected.
