In order to determine the optimal process parameters of H13 steel by WAAM single-layer and single-pass forming
the experimental combination of deposition current of 80~240 A and deposition speed of 2~6 mm/s
the experimental combination of 5%O
2
+95%Ar
10%CO
2
+90%Ar and 20%CO
2
+80%Ar were selected on the H13 steel substrate after quenching and tempering treatment. The influence of process parameters on the forming of single-layer single-pass layer was analyzed through evaluation indexes of reinforcement coefficient and forming coefficient. The results indicate that the reinforcement coefficient and forming coefficient are decreased with the increase of deposition current
and the reinforcement coefficient reaches the maximum of 3.79 under the experimental combination of 120 A and 6 mm/s
which reaches the minimum of 2.11 at 240 A and 6 mm/s. The forming coefficient reaches the maximum of 8.56 under the experimental combination of 80 A and 2 mm/s
which reaches the minimum of 3.42 at 200 A and 6 mm/s. Therefore
when deposition current is 120 A
deposition speed is 4 mm/s and protective gas is combination of 20%CO
2
+80%Ar
forming parts with desirable quality can be obtained.
