/%) alloy profiles were fabricated by die casting. The effects of different Zn contents on the microstructure morphology of the alloy were analyzed by OM and SEM
and the influence of Zn content on mechanical properties and thermal conductivity were further analyzed. The results indicate that when the Zn content of alloy is increased from 12% to 18%
the Zn solid solution in α-Al matrix is increased
playing a role of solid solution strengthening. Meanwhile
the dimension of eutectic Si phase is increased to form a sharp angle
resulting in stress concentration. The tensile strength and yield strength of the alloy are increased from 345.5 MPa and 263.5 MPa to 395.4 MPa and 343.8 MPa
respectively
and the elongation is decreased slightly. Meanwhile
the thermal conductivity is decreased from 109.4 W/(m·K) to 85.7 W/(m·K).
