The deformation and shrinkage data of large-scale double solid equiaxed crystal vanes were analyzed by 3 D optical scanning technology
and influence of different wax placement ways on the dimension were investigated to obtain the appropriate control method of vane shrinkage and dimension. The results reveal that the shrinkage factor along spindle direction(Z) is increased from the leading edge to the exhaust edge
while that along basin-back direction(Y) is decreased from the leading edge to the exhaust edge. The shrinkage factors of large flange are much smaller than small flange along both inlet-outlet(X) and basin-back direction. Blade deformation is mainly induced by wax making and pouring process. In view of wax pattern deformation
placing wax laterally with the backside of vane downward is the most conducive to reducing deformation.
