Based on the metal Ga with low melting point and good thermal stability
Mg-43 Ga and Mg-19 Al-24 Ga heat storage alloys were designed and prepared. The density of the alloys was measured by drainage method. The phase composition

phase transition temperature and latent heat of the alloys were investigated by means of X-ray diffraction
metallographic microscope
electron probe microanalyzer and differential scanning calorimetry
and the compatibility of Mg-19 Al-24 Ga alloy with carbon steel(Q235) and stainless steel(316) container materials was analyzed. The results show that the phase transition temperature
latent heat and heat storage density of Mg-43 Ga and Mg-19 Al-24 Ga alloys reach 422.70 ℃
171.90 J/g
434.36 J/cm~3
and 373.67 ℃
172.70 J/g
397.86 J/cm~3
respectively. Both of them have potential to be good phase change heat storage materials. The compatibility of 316 stainless steel with Mg-19 Al-24 Ga alloy is obviously better than that of Q235 carbon steel.
