Four kinds of Cr20 Ni80 alloys with different rare earth Y contents were prepared by non-consumable vacuum arc melting furnace
and the effect of rare earth on high temperature oxidation resistance of alloy was explored. The oxidation behavior of alloys at 1 000 ℃ were investigated by XRD
SEM and EPMA. The results indicate that Y addition can significantly improve the high-temperature oxidation resistance of the alloy
and the density of the oxide film and the adhesion of the matrix alloy are enhanced. The main component of the oxide film is Cr
2
O
3
with a certain amount of NiCr
2
O
4
among which the alloy with 0.3%Y has the desirable high-temperature oxidation resistance.
