In order to utilize the scale model to predict the forming process and internal quality of large thin-walled parts
a scale model was designed based on similarity theory and the effectiveness was verified. Numerical simulation and investment casting experiments were conducted to investigate the filling
solidification
hot tendency and internal quality of large thin-walled superalloy parts. The results indicate that the scale model can fully reflect the forming process and internal quality of the original large thin-walled superalloy parts
where the filling and solidification properties of the smooth thin wall connected by steel bar and seamless gate are identical. Moreover
the filling and solidification velocity is higher than that of the convex
while the trend in common. Therefore
it is proved that the combination of similarity theory
numerical simulation and actual experiment can effectively guide the production of large thin-walled superalloy parts
effectively reducing the development costs and improving yield rate.
