采用冷压法制备了Fe含量为5%(质量分数
下同)的Al粉和Fe粉压坯
确定了制坯压力对压坯密度的影响;采用固相烧结法制备了Al-5Fe合金;采用SEM、EDS和显微硬度等手段研究了压坯在烧结过程中的组织演变与显微硬度的变化趋势。结果表明
压坯密度随制坯压力快速提升
当制坯压力达到500 MPa后
密度增加变缓;500℃下保温30 min不能使压坯烧结
未出现Al
3
Fe金属间化合物;保温45 min或更长
粉末压坯被烧结
合金中形成平均尺寸为10~15μm的颗粒状Al
Fe金属间化合物
组织较铸态明显细化
但基体中存在显微孔隙;烧结合金的密度和维氏硬度随烧结时间延长而提高;当烧结时间为90 min时
合金密度为2.764 g/cm
维氏硬度(HV
0.3
)为38.0;复压复烧可以进一步提升烧结Al-5Fe合金的密度到2.80 g/cm
显微硬度(HV)达到40.0
两者均低于铸态
其原因是复压复烧无法完全消除孔隙。
The Al powder and Fe powder compacts with 5% Fe content was fabricated by cold compression method
and the influence of pressure on compact density was investigated. Al-5 Fe alloy was fabricated by solid phase sintering
and the trend of microstructure evolution and microhardness during sintering were investigated by SEM
EDS and micro-Vickers hardness testing. The results indicate that compact density is increased rapidly with the pressure
and slows down after 500 MPa. The compact is unsintered with absence of Al
Fe intermetallic compound when the temperature is held at 500 ℃ for 30 min. When the temperature is held for over 45 minutes
the powder compact is sintered
and a granular Al
Fe intermetallic compound with an average size of 10~15 μm is formed
where the microstructure is significantly refiner than that of as-cast one
yet with micropores in the matrix. The density and micro-Vickers hardness of the sintered alloy are increased with the sintering time
which reach 2.764 g/cm
and 38 HV
respectively
with sintered for 90 min. Re-pressing and re-sintering can further enhance the density of the sintered Al-5 Fe alloy to 2.80 g/cm
and the microhardness to 40 HV
both of which are lower than those of as-cast ones
which is attributed to re-pressing and re-sintering unable to eliminate micropores completely.
