The MagMa software was used to simulate and analyze the low pressure casting process of the L-shaped positioning support body
and to predict the location and size of the defects easy to appear in the castings. The simulation results show that during the whole filling process of the castings
the molten aluminum flows smoothly
and there exists absence of entraipped-gas or cold shut. Through cutting the middle surface
absence of casting defects such as porosity and shrinkage could be observed
showing reasonale pouring system design. Through small batch production verification
the appearance of the product meets the requirements of the drawing
and the product qualification rate is more than 98%.
