The friction and wear properties of forging and solution-aged Cu-Ni-Al-Be alloys were investigated by UMT-2 friction and wear tester. Wear morphology and the aged precipitation of Cu-Ni-Al-Be alloy were characterized by SEM and TEM. The primary phase of Cu-Ni-Al-Be alloy is coherent NiBe precipitation after solution at 1 000 ℃×1.5 h and aged at 450 ℃×3 h treatment. The friction coefficient and wear loss of aged alloy is less than that of the forged ones at low load and low speed. The wear mechanisms of both forged and solution-aged alloy are dominated by abrasive wear and adhesive wear at low load and low speed
which are oxidation wear and delamination wear at high load and high speed. Wear resistance of Cu-Ni-Al-Be alloy is desirable after solution-aged treatment.
