The MAGMA software was used to simulate the temperature field of large complex ZM5 magnesium housing preapred by differential pressure casting. In order to solve the problem of casting metallurgical quality
hemisphere design in upper mold of lift pipe was designed to increase contact area between the metal liquid and the cavity during differential casting. Liquid metal can reduce the thermal shock of molding sand
which greatly reduce the volume of rolled sand for a long time
so the high quality castings can be obtained.
