The interface compatibility of U-8 Mo alloy and Zr-4 alloy was investigated by diffusion-couple method through diffusion test at 900 ℃ and 1 000 ℃ for 6 and 12 h
respectively. The result indicates that the diffusion phenomenon can be observed significantly between U-8 Mo alloy and Zr-4 alloy. The diffusion rate of Mo element is faster during the diffusion process of U-8 Mo to Zr-4
leading to the formation of Mo
2
Zr phase. The U element exists in Zr-base in form of solid solution
and U-8 Mo alloy has good compatibility with Zr-4 alloy.
