The drawing processing parameters of two-joint roller dies for aluminum alloy wires with different compositions were investigated. The spreading characteristics of aluminum wire was tested. The results indicate that the aluminum billet presents inverse tension
leading to the characteristics of tiny spreading
which varies obviously with the strength of the aluminum alloy. The difference of drawing force between drawing die and two-joint roller die was investigated on the tensile testing machine. The results reveal that drawing force of roll die is decreased by more than 28%
showing huge potential of saving energy. The structure of the roll die was modified
and the same section reduction rate as the drawing die was adopted to draw the aluminum wire with different compositions on the same water tank drawing machine.The drawing break line

and drawing oil of the two dies were compared systematically. The results demonstrate that aluminum alloy wires with different compositions can be continuously drawn by combination of roller dies
irrespective of the working hardening
which exhibits advantages of energy saving
easy assembling
environmental protection and low wear.
