amorphous alloy in various HCl solutions were investigated using immersion tests

potentiodynamic polarization tests

scanning electron microscopy（SEM）and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy（EDS）.Immersion tests reveal that absence of significant corrosion is observed after immersion in 0.01

0.1and 1mol/L HCl solutions for 2 256hand in 2mol/L HCl solution for 720h

presenting the acceptable corrosion resistance.The corrosion resistance is decreased with the increase of HCl concentration

and severe corrosion occurs after immersion in 5 mol/L HCl solution for 168h.Potentiodynamic polarization tests demostrate that the spontaneous corrosion potential E

corr

is dropped gradually from 0.402V （vs.SCE）to-0.245V （vs.SCE）

with the corrosion current density j

corr

increased gradually from 5.212×10

-8

A/cm

2

to 6.095×10

-5

A/cm

2

showing that the corrosion resistance is gradually deteriorated

which is consistent with the result of immersion test.SEM/EDS analysis indicates that the corrosion products are mainly oxides

such as ZrO

2

and Cu

2

O.
