Cu-2 Ag alloy wire rod was prepared by three chamber vacuum cold mold vertical drawing continuous casting technology. The effects of different drawing deformation on microstructure

mechanical properties and electrical conductivity of Cu-2 Ag alloy were investigated. The results reveal that the as-cast microstructure of Cu-2 Ag alloy wire rod is mainly distributed in the form of dispersed "spinning cloth" dendrites. With the increase of deformation

the grains are gradually refined and broken

and the cross-section microstructure is extruded and twisted

so the grain boundary becomes fuzzy. Fiber structure is formed in the longitudinal section. With the increase of deformation

the fiber grain spacing is decreased

and the outer fiber structure spacing is smaller than the core. The tensile strength is increased rapidly from 205 MPa to 594 MPa

the elongation is decreased from 38%to 3.5%

and the electrical conductivity is decreased from 53.418 MS/m to 50.750 MS/m through multi pass continuous drawing. SEM fracture analysis shows that the fracture mode is characterized by dimple fracture into shear fracture.
