The effects of molten pool depth on H solubility in Al-melt under the coupling of gravity and vacuum condition were calculated.The results reveal that the H solubility is decreased with the decrease of molten pool depth and temperature and the increase of vacuum degree
while the H solubility for theoretical calculation were lower than that in actual measurement
which may be attributed to the uneven H concentration in the depth direction and the existence of H-gas bubbles.By controlling the degree of vacuum and the depth of molten pool
the lower H solubility can be achieved
and the theoretical range of the vacuum degree and the bath depth of Al-melt is suggested for the H solubility less than 0.2 mL/100 g.
