In view of the structure and technical difficulties of large heat-resistant magnesium alloy shell castings
the casting process was analyzed
including system design
sand core and chilling system design.The casting process was simulated by the ProCAST software
and the casting defects were simulated to understand the causes
and the countermeasures were determined and secondary simulation verification was carried out.According to the simulated results
the casting process parameters were optimized.The results show that the gating system has stable filling and good feeding.The shell castings with good quality were produced by low pressure casting.
