The effects of two annealing methods of air cushion continuous annealing furnace and box furnace on the structure and properties of 3003 aluminum alloy were investigated by EBSD and bending experiment.The results show that the annealing process of box annealing furnace is characterized by low temperature and long time

and the precipitated dispersion phase occurs before recovery and recrystallization or simultaneously

leading to the delay of recrystallization

the coarse long strip recrystallization structure and the extremely sharp strong P{011}<111>texture

while the annealing process of the air cushion furnace is characterized by high temperature and short time

which avoids the concurrent precipitated dispersion phase

presenting fine and uniform equiaxed structure.Recrystallization texture becomes more or less random

and the texture of P{011}<111>is relatively weak.The bending performance of the two annealing methods was compared.It is found that the orange peel appears on the surface of the alloy after the box annealing furnace treatment

and the surface of the air cushion furnace sample is relatively smooth with better bending performance.
