The mechanical properties of ductile cast iron with different Cu addition were tested by tensile tester and Brinell hardness tester. The dry friction and wear experiments were carried out with the reciprocating friction and wear tester. The microstructure of the sample was characterized by metallographic microscope and scanning electron microscope. The effect of copper on the wear resistance of ductile cast iron was discussed. The results show that the copper can improve effectively the wear resistance of ductile cast iron. The main wear mechanism is characterized by plastic deformation
and with the increase of pearlite content
the abrasive wear becomes serious. With the increase of friction time
the fatigue wear is increased. In addition
the increase of load can reduce the friction coefficient of materials.
