Columnar wax pattern is a typical wax pattern structure in investment casting.In actual production
there are few researches on the filling process of columnar wax molds
and only on a large number of trial and error filling types to obtain reliable process data with time-consuming and labor-consuming.Firstly
the representative dimension of the columnar wax mould was chosen as20 mm×200 mm.Then
the influence of filling process parameters on the filling quality of the wax mould was investigated by Moldflow software
and the universal filling parameter range of the columnar wax mould was presented.Finally
the optimized filling process parameters of the columnar wax mould in the given dimension range were obtained by orthogonal experiment as follows:the filling temperature of 56℃
the mould temperature of 22℃
and the wax injection speed of 50 cm
3
/s as well as the holding time of 30 s.
