(S3) high entropy alloys were prepared by arc melting process.The microstructure and corrosion resistance of the alloys prepared were investigated.The results show that the S1 and S3 alloys are composed of simple face centered cubic solid solution and body centerd cubic solid solution(FCC1+FCC2+BCC)
while the S2 alloy consists of single face centered cubic solid solution(FCC1+FCC2).In 1 mol/L NaOH solution
the average corrosion rates of S1
S2
and S3 reach 0.078
0.04 and 0.119 mm/a in immersion testing
respectively
and the average corrosion rate of S1
S2
and S3 reach 7.2×10
-7
2.8×10
-7
and 3.4×10
-6
mm/a in polarization corrosion testing
respectively.The S2 alloy shows an excellent alkali-resistance because of simple FCC solid solution and high content of Cr and Ni.
