Al matrix composites with different composition were prepared by powder metallurgy.After mechanical mixing
the powder was formed by cold pressing at a certain pressure
then sintered at 550℃ in argon atmosphere and holding for 30 minutes and then cooling with the furnace.It is found that the porosity of Al-Mg composites is higher
and the Al matrix and Ti particles in Al-Ti composites are physically combined
and the compactness of the Al-Mg-Ti composites is superior to that of the Al-Mg composites.In addition
a ternary phase Al
18
Ti
2
Mg
3
can be observed.The presence of Mg can reduce the phase transition temperature of Al-Ti system
and the increase of Mg element is conducive to the further occurrence of Al-Ti reaction and finally the generation of ternary phase.
