The View-cast software was used to simulate lost foam casting process of the vermicular cast iron mold

and scheme was optimized according to the simulation results.The simulated result and production reveal that the defects can be reduced when the two molds are placed at the angle of 120°

and the lower lip is tilted down and the inner runner is located below the middle of the ear standing on the casting mold.And the castings meeting the requirement were finally obtained.Not only is the heat conduction function increased and thermal stress decreased

but also the generation and growth of the crack and the moving of dislocation are controlled as the result of a number of vermicular graphite uniformly distributed in the structure

so the serving life is enhanced effectively.
