/Ni35 composite coatings on H13 steel were prepared by laser cladding.A kind of thermal fatigue test equipment which is more suitable for aluminum alloy die casting conditions was developed.The coatings were subjected to 600 thermal fatigue cycles.The coating microstructure was observed by SEM-EDS.The results show that thermal fatigue properties of laser cladding coatings with SiC
p
are lower than that of H13 steel substrate.The low strength and thermal expansion coefficient as well as poor wettability of graphite are responsible for crack initiation
and oxidation of metal silicides result in crack propagation.
