ZL105/AZ91 Dbimetal composites with good metallurgical bonding were fabricated by compound casting.After deposited zinc
the ZL105 plate was put into the mould and preheated to 300 ℃
then the fresh liquid AZ91 Dwas poured over it.And then
the sample was held at 500 ℃ for 30 min.OM and SEM results reveal that bonding zone with 0.6

.9 mm in thickness can be formed at interface of ZL205 alloy and AZ91 Dalloy with holding for 30 min.XRD analysis reveals that the bonding zone is composed of solution Mg
α-Al phase and Mg17 Al12.The microhardness of the bonding area reaches over(HV)200.Meanwhile
at the same casting condition
without holding treatment
agap can be observed at the bonding zone.The results show that a metallurgical bonding can be obtained between ZL105 and AZ91 Das a result of holding treatment promoting the interfacial reaction.
