A new method to prepare Al-Ti-C master alloy was proposed.Arc temperature can make graphite and aluminum better mix together
which can resolve the problems of poor wettability between graphite and aluminum.By using scanning electron microscopy(SEM)
X ray diffraction(XRD)
energy spectrum analysis(EDS)
Al-Ti-C master alloy prepared was analyzed.It can be seen that Al-Ti-C master alloy prepared by high temperature arc in pure molten aluminum is composed of Al
TiAl
3
and TiC.The Al-Ti-C master alloy with desirable effects was prepared by reaction of carbon and titanium with aluminum under current of 75 Aand molten aluminum temperature of 800 ℃.
