Aiming at the complicated characteristics of bimetallic turbine structure
the ultrasonic double probe method was used to detect the interface area.Firstly
the coverage and reflection of the ultrasonic beam on the interface of the turbine were analyzed by the acoustic line model.The double probe method was used to identify the defect with difference of the amplitude of the defect.Then
the finite element analysis software was used to analyze the acoustic wave propagation in the turbine.A turbine with artificial defects was detected by double probe method combined with multi-angle wedge.Experimental results show that the defect signal is very clear with the high defect location accuracy and the absolute error less than 2mm.
