Al-0.7Fe-0.4Mg-0.1Si alloys with different Er content were prepared.The microstructure of the alloy at as-cast

TEM and other methods.The mechanical properties and electrical conductivity of the alloy were measured to determine effects of Er content and different preparation process stages.The results show that Er element can generate the Al

Er phase with Al element in the cast alloy as the nucleus to refine microstructure.After extrusion and drawing into wire

the microstructure is further refined.The tensile strength and electrical conductivity of the alloy wire can be decreased with adding excessive Er element.And the suitable addition amount of Er elements is 0.2%

elongation and conductivity of the wire reach 273.90 MPa

21.32% and 31.69 MS/m

respectively.
