By utilizing ANSYS CFX software

two kinds of different states（considering or not the liquid surface deformation）were simulated numerically for behavior of liquid level fluctuation in thin slab continuous casting mould with EMBR

and influences of magnetic flux density and magnetic position on the behaviors of metal jet and liquid level fluctuation were analyzed

meanwhile

effects of casting speed and variation law of level fluctuation index（F）on the behavior of liquid level fluctuation were described.The results indicate that

for different shape of free surface calculation models

with ignoring the surface deformation

the distribution of free surface velocity has a characteristics of the parabolic distribution

and maximum wave height of the meniscus is positioned at near the nozzle

while considering surface deformation

the velocity of steel/slag interface exhibits an obvious peak change

and maximum wave height of the steel/slag interface is located at near the narrow side of mould.By comparing the simulated results of the two situations under different processing parameters

under the reasonable parameter conditions

the simulation results of considering surface deformation and wave are more available.
