Aiming at the short frame structure characteristics combined with production practice
the Anycasting software was used to analyze the effects of runner size on the shrinkage porosity(holes).The results reveal that runner design has important influence on feeding effect of the part in squeezing casting.The feeding pressure of alloy liquid can feed for the parts though the runner during the squeeze casting.However
for the thick position far away the gate
feeding effects is inhibited because of the validity of the pressure transfer by the structure of the short frame.Through adopting partial extrusion or cooling water and chilling block
the elimination of local shrinkage porosity can be realized by adjusting solidification sequence of the thick parts.
