Effects of different pouring temperatures such as 750
730
700
675 and 650 ℃ on microstructure evolution of metal mold casting Mg-10 Sm alloy were investigated. The results reveal that the grain size of the Mg-10 Sm alloy is significantly refined
and the microstructure is transformed from big columnar and quiaxed dentrite grains to small equiaxed grains with decreasing in the pouring temperatures. The second dendrite arm spacing(SDAS)is gradually decreased with decreasing in the pouring temperatures.Effects of pouring temperature on the eutectic volume fraction
eutectic distribution and eutectic morphology can be ignored.
