The semi-solid slurry of a novel Mg-6Zn-3RE-1.4Yalloy was prepared by ultrasonic vibration(USV).Then the slurry was formed by direct squeeze casting(SC).The microstructure and phase constitutent of Mg-6Zn-3RE-1.4Yalloy produced by rheo-squeeze casting were investigated.The results show that there exist two-type fine and spherical particles(α1-Mg andα2-Mg)different in size.The average diameter and shape coefficient ofα1-Mg particles reach 22μm and 0.74
respectively
andα2-Mg grains are mainly spherical and fine particles formed from the remaining liquid of the slurry.The phase constitutent of the alloy are mainly not onlyα-Mg matrix、α-Zr but also Mg12Ce、Mg12La and I-Mg3Zn6 Y which distributed along the crystal interface.
