The wear behavior at high temperature of Al2O3 ceramic reinforced 20Cr25Ni20 matrix composites prepared by squeeze casting at 500℃ were investigated
and it was compared with the matrix material 20Cr25Ni20 and other several common roll materials. The results reveal that the Al2O3p/20Cr25Ni20 composites exhibit a better wear resistance
with the specific pressure of 7.95 MPa
which is about 3.4times higher than the matrix materials
and higher than Cr25 high chromium cast iron by 46%.However
the wear resistance of YG10 cemented carbide is 6.5times higher than Al2O3p/20Cr25Ni20 Composites. The matrix materials present serious plastic flow and cutting after high temperature wear
while Al2O3 ceramics plays a good role as the abrasion phase.
