The optimum composition and effect of adding tin and phosphor for improved corrosion and fouling resistances of high strength brasses have been investigated. The following conclusions can be reached from this investigation

1 . The fouling resistance is improved effectively when >0.6% Sn or phosphor were added.2. A new type of brass-58% Cu

3% Mn

1% Fe

l% Al

0.6% Sn possesses good resistances against corrosion and fouling of marine organism.
