Abstract
The effect of mechanical properties on Fe in rare earth hypereutectic Al-Si piston alloys has been investigated under room and elevated temperature. It is demonstrated that the room temperature strength
hardness decreases with the increasing of Fe content
the high temperature strength increases before the Fe content reach 0. 7% and decreases over. Its high temperature elongation change little while the Fe content is less than 1.0%.
