In the past ten years

the H 13 steel as hot working die materials has found spread application

especially it is of economic benefit for making complicated middle and large cast hot work dies. It is necessary to realize fully the cast properties of this steel

but few research works have been reported. In order to determine the factors influencing the casting properties of H 13 steel

a series of tests had been made out

the valuable data were obtained to lay the foundation for manufacturing cast hot work dies with high quality.
