The ceramiclined pipes had been produced by gravitational separation SHS method
and influences of additives SiO2 and CrO3 on combustion synthesis
structure and properties of pipes had been investigated. It was found that SiO2 in ceramics dendritic boundary existed in the form of quartz phases
SiO2 and CrO3 functioned as the diluent and the chemical activator respectively during combustion
SiO2 had duplex effects on ceramic densification
and CrO3 promoted ceramics to be dentified in certain degrees through increasing temperature of melts. Based on chosing suitable proportion to additives
mechanical properties of ceramiclined pipes by gravitational separation SHS method basically reached present level of those done by centrifugal SHS method. The thermal shock resisfance was improved.
